Training Specialist Career Opportunity
Effective January 1, 2009, base rate increases to $44.90

Northwest Lineman College is seeking highly motivated candidates for the position of Training Specialist at its Northern CA campus. NLC is an expanding, progressive, accredited, educational institution that offers a variety of training services to the power delivery industry and is highly committed to delivering the benchmark standard of training. The Training Specialist position will provide classroom and field instruction for various subjects. The training will involve our Electrical Lineworker Program for students who want to get into the power delivery field, our Lineworker Certification Program for trainees currently employed in the industry seeking journey level certification, and our Utility Training Services for trainees who are already working in the industry.
Candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- Posses a journeyman lineman certificate or documented equivalent experience.
- Climb wood and steel structures up to 95 feet in height.
- Obtain a passport within 90 days of employment.
- Effectively train others in a classroom and field environment.
- Have knowledge of applicable regulations applying to electrical linework such as OSHA, NESC, etc., and the ability/desire to research new/current regulations.
- Possess a high level of integrity, honesty and professionalism.
- Communicate verbally in a professional manner with colleagues, students, potential students, alumni, and staff.
- Computer experience required.
- Substation and system operation experience a plus but not required.
Oroville, California (population 12,000) is located 15 miles south east of Chico and 60 miles north of Sacramento. The Oroville area is a great place to live and is only 2 hours from Lake Tahoe, 1.5 hours from Mt. Shasta, 1.5 hours from the Napa Valley, and is located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. This salaried position is based on an hourly rate of $40.05 and is supported by a comprehensive compensation package commensurate with utility companies in the Western United States.
