NLC’S ELECTRICAL LINEWORKER PROGRAM
CDL GRADUATION REQUIREMENT
Obtaining a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) provides significant career flexibility for electrical lineworkers. Not only does it expedite entry into the workforce, but it also enhances your negotiating power when seeking work on projects in different states. Reliable transportation for the crew is crucial to ensure they can reach job sites quickly and safely.
License Requirements
- Class A CDL with air brake endorsement.
- We strongly recommend removing the manual restriction.

How To Secure A CDL
You have two paths to earn your CDL: Get it before attending or get it while you’re here.
Training requirements and hours are the same with either option. If you choose to train while you’re here, you’ll complete training after hours and on weekends.
CDL requirements vary from state to state. Please read our blog post to prepare and download a checklist.

Tuition and CDL Course Fees
Please view our program catalogs for a detailed breakdown of the costs associated with our recommended CDL course and our Electrical Lineworker Program.
